Singapore Airlines ends AMS cargo handling deal with dnata, moves to Swissport

Singapore Airlines Cargo announced that it will shift all its operations at Amsterdam Schiphol Airport from dnata to Swissport, effective September 8, 2025. The move marks the end of a partnership spanning more than 50 years between the carrier and dnata (previously Aeroground and Aviapartner).

In a notice to customers, the airline acknowledged the “many years of cooperation” with dnata but said that “recent challenges” necessitated the transition. Import cargo handling has already been moved to Swissport, since August 6, 2025, while export cargo deliveries for flights departing on and after September 8 will be handled at Swissport Cargo Services’ Vrachtstation T11 facility in Schiphol.

The development comes months after dnata inaugurated its €70 million automated cargo facility at Amsterdam in April 2024, which has since faced teething troubles and operational disruptions, as reported by The STAT Trade Times. Several airlines, including SIA, had voiced concerns over service reliability and cargo flow management at the new facility.

By switching to Swissport, Singapore Airlines said it aims to ensure “dependable and seamless service” for its customers. “We understand that any change in handling agent impacts your operations, and we thank you for your patience and support during this period,” the carrier noted in its message.
