Radia and Maximus Air have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to advance next-generation air cargo operations using the WindRunner, the world’s largest cargo aircraft. The agreement, announced at the Dubai Airshow 2025, aims to meet the rising global demand for oversized and high-value cargo transport by combining Radia’s aircraft technology with Maximus Air’s heavy-lift expertise.

Radia said the partnership will help both companies serve the growing market for outsized cargo as capacity remains limited due to an ageing fleet. The WindRunner offers six times the internal volume of the Antonov AN-124 and can operate on semi-prepared runways, giving operators flexibility to support energy, defence, aerospace, manufacturing, and emergency response sectors.

The MoU was finalised at the Dubai Airshow 2025, a key global platform for major industry collaborations. Maximus Air, part of the Abu Dhabi Aviation Group, is known for heavy-lift missions, humanitarian operations, and logistics support for government, defence, offshore, and commercial aviation customers. Radia said the partnership will merge Maximus Air’s operational reach with WindRunner’s new capabilities to address the global shortage in oversized air freight.

Both companies will explore commercial opportunities, including route development, logistics planning, and customer needs for time-sensitive and high-value cargo. They aim to integrate the WindRunner into global operations to expand capacity for large-scale shipments.

Mark Lundstrom, CEO of Radia, said the WindRunner is designed to transform how large and complex cargo moves worldwide and called Maximus Air an ideal partner as the aircraft approaches commercial entry into service. Samir Ramadan, CEO of Maximus Air, said the collaboration strengthens the UAE’s role in global air cargo logistics and supports the development of next-generation airlift solutions.

The partnership underlines both companies’ focus on innovation and operational excellence, positioning the WindRunner as a strategic asset for commercial, defence, and humanitarian missions worldwide.
