Lufthansa Cargo's revenue climbs 21% to EUR 834 million in Q1 2025
The available freight capacity increased by 7 percent compared to Q1 2024, thanks to the addition of a Boeing 777F.;
Lufthansa Cargo announced the results for Q1 2025 with sales revenue climbing by 21 percent to EUR 834 million and adjusted EBIT reaching EUR 62 million, up from EUR -22 million Q1 last year. The airline attributed it to the notable growth in the Asia-Pacific, Europe, and the Americas regions.
"Strong e-commerce performance and high market demand overall led to EUR 834 million in revenue - a remarkable 21% rise compared to Q1 2024," said Frank Bauer, CFO & CHRO, Lufthansa Cargo
“The positive operational and financial momentum from the second half of 2024 has propelled us into a stellar first quarter of 2025. Driven by robust e-commerce business from Asia and strong global market demand, our Q1 results reflect our commitment to enabling global business,” reads the LinkedIn post announcing the results.
"Our sales have soared, rising by 9 percent to 2.1 billion revenue tonne-kilometres," it added.
The available freight capacity increased by 7 percent compared to Q1 2024, thanks to the addition of a Boeing 777F and expanded passenger flight operations. This translates to 3.2 billion cargo tonne-kilometres versus 3.0 billion cargo tonne-kilometres in the same quarter of the previous year.
The load factor also saw an uptick, increasing by one percentage points to 64 percent.
Segment investments amounted to EUR 27 million, mainly directed towards the expansion and conversion of the freight centre in Frankfurt.
