Frankfurt Airport cargo volumes edge up 0.4% in March 2026

Cargo volumes at Frankfurt Airport recorded modest growth in March 2026, rising 0.4% year-on-year to 185,486 metric tonnes, according to Fraport AG. 

During the reporting month, the increase in cargo throughput (airfreight and airmail combined) came despite a slight decline in operational activity. Aircraft movements fell by 1.1% to 34,892 take-offs and landings, while total maximum take-off weights (MTOWs) dropped by 1.9% year-on-year to around 2.2 million metric tonnes. 

The airport’s cargo performance reflects steady demand in global air freight markets, even as operational metrics showed a marginal contraction during the month.
