DP World has received certification from the International Air Transport Association (IATA) for its freight forwarding operations in Panama, strengthening its capabilities in secure, efficient, and compliant air cargo handling within one of the region’s key logistics gateways.

The certification confirms that DP World’s Panama operations meet internationally recognised IATA standards for air freight management, supporting smoother cargo movements and higher operational reliability across global supply chains.

Through its integrated logistics network, the company can now further streamline end-to-end supply chain services by connecting air, sea, and inland transportation across major trade routes.

The development is part of DP World’s broader expansion strategy in Panama, which recently included the launch of a customs-bonded warehouse to improve cargo storage, consolidation, and distribution. The company had also secured IATA certification for its air freight services in Brazil last year, reinforcing its multimodal logistics capabilities across the region.

Manuel Martinez, CEO of DP World in the Dominican Republic, said, “This certification reflects our continued focus on building a reliable, standardized, and highly competitive logistics platform across the Americas. Aligning our freight forwarding operations with IATA’s global standards strengthens our ability to support customers with secure, compliant, and efficient air cargo solutions that complement our broader port and logistics ecosystem.”

The certification process involved a detailed assessment of DP World’s operational standards, infrastructure, safety and security measures, cargo traceability systems, and compliance framework. The evaluation also confirmed the company’s adherence to major international air cargo regulations, including the International Air Transport Association’s Resolution 813zz for cargo intermediaries in Latin America, Resolution 833 covering ‘Ready for Carriage’ requirements, and Dangerous Goods Regulations governing the handling of hazardous materials.

DP World’s freight forwarding operations in Panama serve as an important gateway for regional connectivity, linking customers to leading airlines, major trade corridors, and key markets throughout the Americas. The certification further reinforces the company’s reputation as a reliable logistics partner, offering internationally certified air cargo services as part of integrated supply chain solutions.

Supported by ongoing infrastructure investments in Panama, DP World continues to expand its unified logistics platform, combining global operational standards with regional expertise to strengthen trade flows, improve supply chain resilience, and enhance efficiency for customers across the Americas.
