Global air charter specialist Chapman Freeborn has announced the appointment of Tyler Porteous as Vice President of Cargo – Canada. The move is designed to reinforce the company’s cargo charter capabilities within the region and enhance support for local clientele.
In his new capacity, Porteous will spearhead the development of Chapman Freeborn’s cargo operations throughout Canada. His primary mandate includes expanding the customer base, fostering long-term client partnerships, and identifying new opportunities across key market segments.
The company aims to leverage his appointment to deliver more tailored, responsive charter solutions to the Canadian market.
The appointment comes as Chapman Freeborn executes a wider development strategy across the Americas. The company continues to invest heavily in both cargo and passenger charter services to strengthen its regional footprint.
Jack Burt, Senior Vice President of Cargo at Chapman Freeborn Americas said, “Tyler’s experience, market knowledge, and close relationships with customers in Canada make him a strong addition to our team. His appointment supports our broader growth across the Americas, while ensuring we remain highly responsive to local market needs.”
Porteous brings over 15 years of specialised experience in air cargo and charter operations to the role. His background includes deep expertise in freighter operations, commercial strategy, and market development.
Prior to joining Chapman Freeborn, he served at one of the world’s largest freighter operators, where he played a pivotal role in building and growing their charter division.
Porteous said, “I’ve spent my career in the Canadian market, so I understand the customers, the demand patterns, and the industries that rely on air cargo. Chapman Freeborn has a strong global reputation, and I see real potential to grow the brand here by focusing on specific segments that haven’t been fully explored yet.”
