All Nippon Airways Trading Co. Ltd. (ANA Trading) has signed a sales agency agreement with Topre Corporation to sell Topre’s RKN air cargo cool containers overseas, starting in October. The agreement will enable ANA Trading to expand its temperature-controlled logistics business globally while supporting air transport of food and other temperature-sensitive goods.

The Topre RKN cool container has received certification from the Japan Civil Aviation Bureau (JCAB) and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). The container can maintain −20°C for up to 24 hours and 5°C for up to 45 hours in ambient temperatures of 35°C, allowing airlines and cargo operators to ensure temperature-controlled transport.

Toprec Corporation, a member of the Topre Group and manufacturer of refrigerated and freezer trucks, began selling these containers in Japan in 2022. Japanese airlines and cargo companies, including All Nippon Airways Co., Ltd, have already adopted them.

According to ANA Trading, increasing summer heat and the expansion of frozen food markets have created demand for reliable air transport solutions at −20°C. The company said it aims to promote Japan’s cold chain technology and “Made in Japan” products internationally.

The container features high cooling performance with reduced dry ice consumption, durability that lowers maintenance costs, and simple operation using a dial temperature setting. Its design includes a low centre of gravity for stable handling and optimal temperature retention.

Topre is the only manufacturer of air cargo containers in Japan. The company has leveraged its expertise in refrigerated and freezer truck technology to produce the RKN cool container.
