United Cargo, the air cargo division of United Airlines, has announced the opening of a new United Cargo freight facility at Cheddi Jagan International Airport (GEO) in Georgetown, Guyana. The airline operates flights to Georgetown (GEO) from its Houston (IAH) hub using Boeing 737 MAX 8, offering service four days a week on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday.
The GEO facility is an import-only location that currently accepts General Air Freight (GEN), Express (EXP), (QuickPak) QPK, UA Premium, and TrustUA products.
United Cargo does not operate a dedicated freighter fleet but relies primarily on the belly cargo space of United Airlines' passenger aircraft. The airline has an active fleet of over 900 aircraft, including widebody models like the Boeing 767, 777, and 787, as well as narrowbody aircraft such as the Boeing 737, 757, and Airbus A319, A320, and A321. United also operates a fleet of regional jets, including Bombardier CRJ-200, 550, 700, and Embraer ERJ 145, 170, and 175 models.
In April this year, the airline opened a new state-of-the-art, 165,000-square-foot cargo facility at Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR).
