Tim Strauss, CEO, Amerijet is leaving the cargo carrier after three years, and Joe Mozzali, Chief Financial Officer, will take over as CEO w.e.f October 7.

An official statement from Amerijet says Strauss is retiring. "We thank Tim for his excellent leadership during a period of tremendous growth for Amerijet over the past three years and wish him well in his retirement," says Bob Horne, Partner, ZS Fund and Amerijet board member.

Strauss had resigned from Amerijet within a year of joining in 2021 on differences with the board and former CEO Vic Karjian but later agreed to come back as CEO. Karjian continues to be Amerijet’s Executive Chairman.

Before joining Amerijet in February 2023, Mozzali, the 30-year industry veteran, held senior leadership roles in finance and strategy at UPS including Chief Financial Officer, UPS Airlines, Chief Financial Officer, UPS International & Supply Chain and CEO, Kiala, a European e-commerce logistics company acquired by UPS, the release added.

“We are very excited about Joe becoming Amerijet’s next CEO," says Horne. "His leadership skills, strategic insights, deep industry knowledge and disciplined management style make him the perfect choice to lead our company. We have great confidence in Joe’s ability to lead us to new heights as the air cargo carrier of choice."

Mozzali adds: “I am thrilled and honoured by the opportunity to lead Team Amerijet as we execute our vision to be the go-to, world-class cargo carrier of choice for our customers and our people."

Amerijet operates a dedicated fleet of freighters from its primary hub at the Miami International Airport, and provides approximately 450 million available tonne kilometres of freighter capacity throughout its scheduled service region annually, the release added.
