Swissport to provide airport ground services to Vietjet Air

A MOU between Swissport and Vietjet Air was signed this week at the Vietnam-Australia Business Forum in Melbourne.

Swissport International AG has been appointed by Vietjet Air, a low-cost carrier based in Vietnam, to provide a comprehensive range of airport ground services. Additionally, Swissport will offer its expertise to Vietjet Air in the development of air cargo handling services and the management of air cargo centers, according to an official release.

A memorandum of understanding between Swissport International AG and Vietjet Air was signed this week at the Vietnam-Australia Business Forum in Melbourne, Australia.

The event was attended by Prime Minister of Vietnam, Pham Minh Chinh, Australian Assistant Minister for Trade and Manufacturing, Tim Ayres, and Premier of the Australian state of Victoria, Jacinta Allan.

"We look forward to working with Vietjet Air to identify strategic opportunities and investments in ground handling, cargo services, and terminal infrastructure," says Brad Moore, CEO of the Asia/Pacific region of Swissport International. "Our agreement is a testament to the continued growth in the region and our shared focus on exceptional customer service, innovation, and quality. We intend to expand our partnership beyond Australia, Japan, and Korea where we currently operate, and become Vietjet Air's preferred partner globally."

Vietjet Air flies to over 120 destinations with a fleet of over 100 aircraft in Vietnam and across Asia. The airline also offers air cargo and ground services.
