ASL Airlines Belgium and Swissport Belgium are extending their collaboration at Liège Airport (LGG).

"The continuation of the successful partnership, which dates back to 2017, further strengthens Swissport’s position in Liège. It covers complete air cargo services including ramp handling, warehousing, and customs clearance," says a release from Swissport.

“We are delighted to continue our successful partnership with ASL Airlines Belgium, one of our largest clients in Belgium,” says Jeroen Giling, Head, Swissport Cargo for Belgium, The Netherlands, and Finland. “Our expertise in handling many types of air cargo in large capacity and the team’s operational readiness and professionalism were determinant for client satisfaction and ultimately the extension of the long-standing partnership.”

ASL Airlines Belgium specialises in long-haul international cargo flights between China, U.S., Canada, and Liège in Belgium. "With its fleet of Boeing 737 and wide-body open-nose Boeing 747-400ER aircraft, ASL Airlines Belgium can carry oversized and special cargo as well as general cargo, perishables, pharmaceuticals, and live animals. In addition, ASL Airlines Belgium provides capacity for third-party airlines and clients."

Dirk Goovaerts, CEO, CEMEA and Global Cargo Chair, Swissport says: “The extension of the contract with ASL Airlines Belgium marks the dedication of our team to provide best-in-class services. We are able to provide tailored, cost-effective services to our clients and remain their partner of choice. We are honoured to serve ASL Airlines Belgium at their European hub. It speaks for the quality of the services Swissport provides.”

Swissport handled over 21 weekly flights and over 140,400 tonnes of cargo for ASL Airlines Belgium in 2022, almost half of all flights and cargo volumes handled by the Swissport team at LGG, the release added.
