Skyways Air Services improved its global ranking to 42nd from 44th. The company also increased its share of India’s air export market to 6.3% in the second quarter of FY2026-27, up from 6.2% in the previous quarter, according to the latest chargeable weight data from WorldACD Market Data.

It attributed its growth to operational agility and capacity management amid global supply chain disruptions, fluctuating aviation fuel costs and shifting geopolitical trade routes.

Skyways said growth during the quarter was driven by time-sensitive, high-yield shipments, including temperature-controlled pharmaceuticals, automotive components and electronics. Demand across key trade corridors connecting India with Europe, the Middle East and North America also supported performance.

The company relies on long-term capacity agreements with global carriers, including Emirates SkyCargo, Lufthansa Cargo, Saudia Cargo, Turkish Cargo and Air India Cargo.

Under its Skyways 2.0 strategy, the company is also expanding digital adoption through platforms such as ASAP, SLS 100X, Cargo Dash and Skart-Edge. These initiatives aim to integrate its air and ocean freight, express logistics, customs clearance, road transport and warehousing services into a more connected logistics platform.

Yashpal Sharma, Chief Executive Officer & CMD of Skyways Air Services, said “Sustaining our position as India’s No. 1 air freight forwarder while climbing to 42nd globally reflects the trust our customers place in our network and the dedication of our operating teams. Crossing the 6.3% India air exports market share mark in Q2 FY27 in an unpredictable macro environment underscores the resilience of our asset-light model and our ability to secure reliable capacity when shippers need it most. As Indian manufacturing and outbound merchandise exports gather momentum, we are focused not only on expanding our network, but also on building a more integrated, technology enabled logistics platform. Through our Skyways 2.0 strategy and digital platforms such as ASAP, SLS 100X, Cargo Dash and Skart-Edge, we aim to strengthen digital adoption, connect capabilities across the supply chain and deliver seamless global connectivity to Indian enterprises.”

Skyways Air Services is also advancing its international expansion strategy, with plans to establish a stronger presence across key Asia-Pacific trade hubs. The company is pursuing dedicated operations and joint ventures in Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines and mainland China, building on its position in India’s air export market.
