Royal Air Maroc Cargo unveils global growth and digital strategy
The airline’s cargo services are currently available across 82 destinations globally.

Royal Air Maroc Cargo has announced its strategic plan for global growth, focused on expanding its operations across Africa, Asia, and the Americas, modernising its fleet, adopting digital tools, and enhancing sustainability practises. The announcement was made in Morocco, where the airline detailed how its new generation widebody aircraft and Casablanca hub will support its operational goals. The airline’s cargo services are currently available across 82 destinations globally.
As part of this strategy, Royal Air Maroc Cargo is deploying its PAX widebody aircraft to extend long-haul capabilities and increase cargo capacity. These aircraft are supported by a dedicated Boeing 767 freighter and a fleet of 30 narrowbody aircraft. The airline said the updated fleet allows it to move bulk and palletised cargo more efficiently while aligning operations with lower-carbon targets.
“Our vision is to expand Royal Air Maroc Cargo’s global network, connect emerging and established markets, and strengthen Morocco’s position as a trade and logistics hub,” said Yassine Berrada, Vice-President Cargo at Royal Air Maroc. “With the introduction of the new generation widebodies, we are not only increasing our operational capacity but also reducing our environmental impact—helping us build a future that is innovative, responsible, and customer-focused.”
Royal Air Maroc Cargo’s Casablanca hub plays a central role in its growth plans. Located at Mohammed V Airport, it offers a cargo terminal with 200,000 tonnes of annual handling capacity and specialised zones for temperature-sensitive and high-value goods. The terminal includes two cold rooms and two secure storage areas.
To improve service access and booking efficiency, Royal Air Maroc Cargo is working with platforms such as cargo.one and Cargo.AI. These partnerships provide customers with 24/7 access to booking, scheduling, and real-time availability. Planned upgrades will include real-time tracking, automated documentation, and digital communications.
Sustainability remains a key focus. The airline operates fuel-efficient aircraft, uses solar photovoltaic systems at its facilities, and employs biodegradable wrapping for shipments. Royal Air Maroc Cargo also partners with humanitarian organisations, including AIRLINK, to transport vaccines and medical supplies across Africa.
Royal Air Maroc Cargo aims to strengthen its role in connecting international trade routes while supporting logistics development across Africa. The airline continues to expand its network through direct flights and interline agreements, backed by a dedicated team of 140 employees operating around the clock at its Casablanca terminal.
