Menzies wins SIA contract at Western Sydney Airport
Singapore Airlines appoints the aviation services provider to handle passenger, ramp and cargo operations at Western Sydney International Airport from November 2026.

Singapore Airlines (SIA) has appointed Menzies Aviation to provide cargo, ramp and passenger handling services at Western Sydney International (Nancy-Bird Walton) Airport (WSI), ahead of the airport's opening.
Menzies will support SIA's daily passenger flights and ad hoc freighter operations from November 23, 2026, when the airline begins operations at the new 24-hour airport.
The contract marks a further expansion of Menzies' presence at WSI, where it has developed a 12,500 sqm cargo facility with an annual handling capacity of up to 200,000 tonnes. The facility is the company's largest cargo warehouse across Oceania and Southeast Asia.
The latest agreement builds on the existing partnership between the two companies. Menzies already provides freighter ramp handling services for SIA in Sydney and Melbourne. Earlier this year, it also secured the airline's ground handling contracts in Brisbane and Cairns.
Darren Masters, Executive Vice President Oceania, Southeast Asia & China, Menzies Aviation, said, “We are proud to be appointed by Singapore Airlines, our first airline customer at Western Sydney International Airport. This builds on our long-standing partnership with the airline and reflects our ability to deliver world-class passenger, ramp and cargo services. Our new airside cargo facility and integrated service offering will support airline growth, strengthen supply chains and help establish the airport as a major aviation and cargo gateway for Australia.”
Foo Chai Woo, Regional Vice President South West Pacific, Singapore Airlines said, “As we prepare for the launch of operations at WSI from 23 November 2026, Singapore Airlines is working closely with Menzies to ensure we are ready to deliver the high-quality passenger, ramp and cargo handling services our customers expect from us.”
The agreement further strengthens Menzies’ footprint in Australia, where it provides air cargo and ground handling services across 15 airports. WSI represents the company’s 11th cargo operation in the country, reinforcing its commitment to supporting Australia’s aviation sector, exporters and supply chains.
Situated within the airport’s cargo precinct, the new facility is designed to handle a diverse range of shipments, including pharmaceuticals, perishables, e-commerce cargo and heavy freight. It will also operate using MACH, Menzies’ next-generation cargo management platform, which offers customers greater shipment visibility, operational efficiency and real-time tracking.
