Magma Aviation made significant progress in 2024, expanding its operations in Europe, Dubai, and Dublin. The company signed a multi-year contract with Worldwide Flight Services (WFS) for freighter handling at Liege Airport. This partnership aims to enhance handling capabilities and support Magma Aviation's growth plans.

"We needed bandwidth in our handling partner in Liège as we proceeded with our 5-year plan. WFS was the perfect choice," said Peter Kerins, CEO of Magma Aviation.

Magma Aviation also added narrow-body aircraft to its fleet, marking a significant step in diversifying and optimising its operational capabilities. This move enables the company to adapt to changing market demands and expand its services.

In 2024, the air cargo industry experienced a significant surge, with demand rising 11.3% from 2023, achieving unprecedented volumes. Meanwhile, cargo capacity grew 7.4% year-over-year, driven by a 9.6% increase in international operations.

Furthermore, Magma Aviation opened a new global headquarters in Dublin, Ireland. This strategic location allows the company to develop stronger relationships with leasing companies, as approximately 50% of the world's aircraft are leased from Ireland.

In addition, Magma Aviation established a new office in Dubai to support its increased operations and growing demand in the Middle East. "Due to Dubai's strategic central location, it is a well-connected hub from which we can access new markets," shared Kerins.

Magma Aviation's primary objective for 2025 is to utilise its expanded capabilities to meet the evolving demands of the global air cargo market. The company aims to secure multiple aircraft and expand its fleet by Q3/Q4 2025.

With its strategic expansions and partnerships, Magma Aviation is well-positioned to navigate the challenges and opportunities in the global air cargo market.
