Lufthansa Cargo honoured international logistics and transport company Kuehne+Nagel with the Excellence Award 2022 during this year's Global Partner Council (GPC).

"It is the 25th time that a partner has been honoured with this award. The GPC is an annual industry gathering hosted by Lufthansa Cargo and took place in Madrid this year," says an official release from Lufthansa Cargo.

Lufthansa Cargo and Kuehne+Nagel have a long-standing and trusting cooperation in freight business, both within Europe and worldwide, the release added. "The two transport companies work closely together to effectively promote digitisation and sustainability initiatives in the air freight industry. For example, in recent months, 100 percent transportation of paperless shipments on individual Asian routes could be realised and also the promotion and use of power-to-liquid aviation fuel. In addition, Kuehne+Nagel supports the utilisation of Lufthansa Cargo’s A321 freighters in the short- and medium-haul segment."

Ashwin Bhat, CEO, Lufthansa Cargo says: "I am very pleased to present our Global Partner Kuehne+Nagel with the Excellence Award 2022. Our strong partnership at all levels of the organisation provided market opportunities and room for new industry-leading ideas. Together, we were able to expand our market positioning and thus also offer our customers added value in service."

Holger Ketz, Senior Vice President, Global Air Logistics Network & Carrier Management, Kuehne+Nagel, accepted the award in Madrid.

"We are very pleased to receive this award in recognition of our long-standing and close partnership between Kuehne+Nagel and Lufthansa Cargo," says Ketz. "This is also an appreciation of our successes in the field of digitalisation and in the joint development and use of synthetic fuels as part of our power-to-liquid project. It underscores our long-standing and extremely successful cooperation with Lufthansa Cargo in our home market of Germany on the basis of which we will further intensify our global collaboration with Lufthansa Cargo."
