German cargo carrier Lufthansa Cargo embarks on a new chapter today (July 1) as its newly appointed executive board officially takes charge. Back in May, the company announced leadership changes, naming Frank Bauer as Chief Operating Officer and appointing Gregor Schleussner as Chief Financial Officer and Chief Human Resources Officer. With these appointments, the new executive board completes the leadership team, which continues under the leadership of Ashwin Bhat, Chairperson of the Executive Board and CEO.
Gregor Schleussner joins the board with experience from the Lufthansa Group. Lufthansa Cargo said he would bring “fresh perspectives” to the leadership team as he takes on the dual role of CFO and CHRO.
Ashwin Bhat remains CEO of Lufthansa Cargo and will lead the newly constituted board. The company stated that the now-completed Executive Board is dedicated to re-establishing Lufthansa Cargo as a top three leading carrier together with the company's employees.
The leadership update comes as Lufthansa Cargo works to advance its strategic goals and strengthen its global position in the air freight sector.
