Liege Airport cargo handled up 16% in Nov
Since the beginning of the year, LGG’s cargo airline portfolio has grown by 20% to 49 freighter carriers.

Liege Airport (LGG) reported a 16 percent increase in cargo tonnage at 112,106 tonnes in November compared to 96,497 tonnes handled in November 2023.
The airport recorded 2,586 cargo aircraft movements in November — a 12.6 percent increase from 2,297 movements in November 2023, says an official release.
“These are the highest levels reached in 2024,” says Torsten Wefers, VP, Sales & Marketing, Liege Airport. “Liege Airport's cargo community has demonstrated exceptional performance throughout the year, supporting the unique growth path of LGG, and the outlook for 2025 is very encouraging.”
Since the beginning of the year, LGG’s cargo airline portfolio has grown by 20 percent to 49 freighter carriers operating regularly via Liege Airport. Also, nearly 60 logistics companies are now based around the airport, benefiting from LGG’s unique cargo-only approach, the release added.
Liege Airport had posted the second highest growth in cargo tonnages, just behind Madrid Airport in October, says an official release.
"A surge in demand from the Asian continent is driving air freight growth, with imports playing a larger role than exports, reflecting ongoing challenges in the European economy."
Global demand for air freight showed no signs of slowing in November, with volumes recording a 13th consecutive month of double-digit growth and load factors reaching their highest level since April 2022, the release added, quoting the latest analysis from Xeneta. "Demand grew by +10 percent year-on-year in November, fueled by the continuing boom in e-commerce.”
