JAL and Kalitta boost Narita–Chicago cargo flights to five weekly
Effective December 10, JAL’s increase from three to five cargo flights boosts capacity to meet Asia–North America demand.
Japan Airlines (JAL) has announced that it will increase its weekly code-share cargo flights with Kalitta Air on the Narita–Chicago route from three to five flights, effective December 10.
Since May 2025, JAL has provided stable and flexible air-cargo transportation by incorporating large freighter aircraft into its network through a code-share agreement with Kalitta. This partnership has enabled JAL to respond effectively to the rapidly growing cargo demand between Asia and North America.
By increasing the frequency of large cargo flights from three to five per week, JAL will further strengthen its transport capacity and continue to meet the rising demand for cargo movement between Asia and North America.
From December 10 to March 28, JAL and Kalitta will operate five weekly code-share cargo flights on the Narita–Chicago route using a mix of Boeing 777-300ERSF and 747-400F aircraft. Three of these flights, JL6746/K4550 from Chicago to Narita and JL6747/K4551 from Narita to Chicago, will be operated on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays westbound, and on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays eastbound, using the 777-300ERSF. In addition, two more weekly frequencies will be operated with the 747-400F: JL6722/K4556 from Chicago to Narita on Wednesdays and Fridays, and JL6727/K4557 from Narita to Chicago on Thursdays and Saturdays. All flights include a technical stop in Anchorage for refueling and remain subject to regulatory approvals.
