Intradco Global recently arranged a successful equine air charter of Arabian horses from Europe to Lebanon. The operation became more complex when notice of industrial action at the departure airport was received less than 48 hours prior to departure, preventing the flight from taking place as originally scheduled.

Hayden Edwards, Intradco Global’s Live Animal & Cargo Account Manager, acted immediately to re-coordinate the aircraft, handling agents and live animal vehicles to ensure the operation could proceed at the earliest possible opportunity.

Remaining at the stables four days longer than anticipated, the horses were under the care of the stable hands before arriving at the departure airport to travel to their new home. Intradco Global’s expert ground operations and flying groom team, led by Chief Groom Zac Carroll, handled the horses with great care and attention from the moment they arrived to the moment they departed.

The horses arrived in Lebanon safely and in excellent health, and the customer, who was there to greet the horses, was delighted with how well Intradco Global had looked after them.

Edwards said, “Overcoming last-minute challenges is part of the Intradco Global service. When dealing with live animals, delays to the schedule can jeopardise the entire operation and have significant knock-on effects, so it was imperative to respond quickly and act decisively to recover the situation. Having a 24/7 service is incredibly important for our customers.
