IAG Cargo to use Cind’s CargoSpect at London Heathrow
An AI-powered camera solution will calculate dimensions and provide data on freight movements in real-time.

Cind, a leader in computer vision software, has partnered with IAG Cargo, the cargo division of International Airlines Group (IAG), to debut its cutting-edge camera-based AI system CargoSpect at IAG Cargo’s London Heathrow hub.
This marks the first installation of the system in the United Kingdom, says an official release from Cind.
"CargoSpect is a fully automated scanning solution that captures crucial cargo data, including dimensions and weight, in real-time. The system, equipped with 10 cameras, can capture 500 measurements per hour, transforming the way cargo is handled, maximising space of each cargo shipment, automating data collection and boosting sustainability through improved load efficiency. It’s in-motion technology, capable of dynamic measurements at speeds up to 7km/h, eliminates the need to stop or unload pallets – cargo simply moves through the system seamlessly."

Adam Carson, Chief Operations Officer, IAG Cargo says: "The integration of AI technologies will equip our teams with more accurate real-time data empowering us to make smarter logistics decisions. This leads to greater efficiency and a higher quality service for our customers."
Marcus Schelin, CEO, Cind adds: "A company with the dignity and history that IAG Cargo has is a major recognition for us and we are beyond happy to install our CargoSpect solution at their Heathrow Terminal. Dimensioning is a critical component in cargo logistics as it ensures that every cargo space is utilised efficiently. With the CargoSpect solution, IAG Cargo can measure cargo volumes and at the same time collect all different types of necessary data that are used to improve overall logistics performance and increased security."
The investment underscores IAG Cargo's commitment to staying ahead of the curve in the rapidly evolving logistics landscape, the release added.
