In mid-January, Gilles Duffaut assumed the role of Managing Director at Hellmann Worldwide Logistics' French subsidiary (Hellmann France), succeeding Alex Delrue, who had led both the French and Spanish subsidiaries in a dual capacity for the past five years. The appointment of a dedicated Managing Director for France underscores Hellmann's commitment to driving continued growth and reinforcing its presence in the strategically crucial French market, according to an official release from Hellmann.

With more than 30 years of international experience in the transport and logistics sector, Gilles Duffaut is poised to further enhance and sustainably grow Hellmann's market position in France. Having held several leadership roles at global logistics providers, Duffaut brings a wealth of expertise and valuable industry insights to his new position, mentions the release.

Since establishing its first dedicated air and sea freight branch near Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport in 2019, Hellmann has steadily expanded its network and service portfolio in France. The logistics provider now operates five branches across the country, offering a comprehensive range of services, including air and sea freight, customs clearance, and direct load solutions, catering to local and multinational clients in industries such as fashion, pharmaceuticals, and automotive.

As one of Europe’s most dynamic logistics markets, France benefits from a strategic location, advanced infrastructure, and strong connections to global trade routes, making it a vital hub for international trade with considerable growth opportunities. In line with this potential, Hellmann plans to open additional branches in France and expand its direct load network across Europe, the release added.

“The appointment of Gilles Duffaut is an important step in our growth strategy. We look forward to working with him and his team to expand our market position in France across all product areas and to further consolidate our network in France. At the same time, we would like to thank Alex Delrue, who has done an excellent job in his dual role in both Spain and France and will now refocus on developing the Spanish market,” says Jens Tarnowski, Regional CEO West Europe, Hellmann Worldwide Logistics.
