GEODIS appoints Massimo Norcaro and Xavier Avrard to key roles
GEODIS names Norcaro as global COO and Avrard to head France and Africa freight forwarding operations

GEODIS has announced two senior leadership appointments within its Freight Forwarding division, with Massimo Norcaro named Chief Operating Officer, Global Freight Forwarding, and Xavier Avrard appointed Chief Executive Officer of GEODIS Freight Forwarding France and Africa, both effective April 1.
Massimo Norcaro brings a long-standing career at GEODIS, with strong operational experience and deep knowledge of the freight forwarding business. He has held several senior leadership roles within the Group, most recently serving as President and Chief Executive Officer of GEODIS Freight Forwarding France. In his new role, Norcaro will oversee global Air and Ocean Freight, Implementation, as well as Customs and Trade Compliance activities. His focus will be on strengthening operational excellence, service quality, process efficiency and supporting the ongoing transformation of the business.
Xavier Avrard has also built a long career at GEODIS and brings a strong understanding of the company’s strategy and priorities. He previously led Group Strategy, including mergers and acquisitions and post-merger integration. In addition, he has held several key roles over the years, including Chief Strategy Officer, Head of Strategic Development in Europe, and Senior Vice-President for Group Digital Transformation. He has also led industrial projects across Western Europe, the Middle East and Africa, and managed operations in Africa. In his new role, Avrard will lead GEODIS Freight Forwarding activities in France and Africa, while also overseeing project logistics activities across the African region.
The company said it remains committed to strengthening its position in France and delivering a stronger value proposition to customers by leveraging synergies across its different lines of business.
GEODIS welcomed both appointments and expressed confidence in their leadership as the company continues to enhance its freight forwarding operations.
