Fraport appoints Dietmar Focke to Executive Board from May 2026
Dietmar Focke will join Fraport’s Executive Board as COO on May 1, 2026, filling the vacancy left by Anke Giesen.

Fraport AG has appointed Dietmar Focke to its Executive Board, effective May 1, 2026. The 53-year-old will fill the vacancy created after the retirement of Anke Giesen at the end of last year, restoring the board to its full complement of five members.
As Chief Operating Officer, Focke will take responsibility for the aviation and ground services divisions. He holds a university degree in engineering and most recently served as chief executive officer of Lufthansa Industry Solutions.
Michael Boddenberg, Chair of the Supervisory Board, said he was pleased that Focke would be joining the Executive Board. He described him as an accomplished manager with strong skills and many years of experience in the aviation industry, adding that Focke would strengthen the team given the demanding operations at Frankfurt Airport.
Focke began his career after training as an industrial mechanic and studying engineering. In 2000, he joined Lufthansa Technik AG, where he held several management positions in Germany, China and Hungary. He later served as vice president and spokesperson for engine services.
In 2022, he joined the executive board of Lufthansa Cargo as chief operating officer. In 2024, he became chief executive officer and sole managing director of Lufthansa Industry Solutions, an international IT consulting company with 3,000 employees focused on digital transformation.
