Flexport has launched a new Tariff Refund Calculator to help importers estimate potential duty refunds ahead of a key U.S. Supreme Court ruling on tariffs imposed under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA). The tool is publicly available at tariffs.flexport.com/refunds and is designed to give businesses early insight into possible outcomes if the court orders refunds.

The calculator is part of Flexport’s broader customs technology suite, which also includes the widely used Tariff Simulator. The suite aims to give importers better data, insights and transparency to make faster decisions in a complex global trade environment.

To use the calculator, businesses upload their 2025 Entry Report from the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), which is freely available online to U.S. importers. The tool instantly calculates the total duties that could be eligible for refund and breaks them down by duty category, helping companies see their potential return if refunds are ordered by the Supreme Court.

Ryan Petersen, Founder and CEO of Flexport, said the tool was built to help customers plan for different scenarios while they await the court’s decision. He added that, although the company cannot predict the ruling, the calculator gives businesses clearer insight so they are prepared for whatever happens next.

The refund calculator will be updated in real time as more information becomes available. Flexport’s customs and trade advisory expertise powers the technology, which analyses potential refund amounts based on previously paid duties. The company said results may vary and its experts are available to discuss estimates with users.

Flexport said that, as one of the largest customs brokerages in the United States, it is well placed to help companies of all sizes manage compliance, risk and cost. The tariff refund calculator is available for free to all U.S. importers.
