The fifth freighter of MSC Air Cargo has landed at Milan Malpensa Airport in Italy. The Boeing 777F is registered as I-MSCA and the aircraft is expected to start its commercial operations very soon. The aircraft flew from Seattle Paine Field International Airport (PAE) to Milan Malpensa Airport (MXP). The aircraft named Alfirk, will be operated under its own AOC received through its acquisition of Aliscargo.

Despite earlier expectations of receiving the fifth Boeing B777F by the end of Q1 2024, the delivery got delayed, according to our previous report.

With this new acquisition, MSC’s fleet of Boeing 777 freighters now totals five. MSC took delivery of the fourth B777F in the first week of January this year, delayed by more than a month. Delivery delays were due to disruptions in the global supply chain that impacted plane maker Boeing. The four freighters in MSC’s fleet are operated by Atlas Air, an American cargo airline which is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Atlas Air Worldwide.
