Embraer has signed a solid order with an unnamed client for up to ten Embraer E-Jets Passenger to Freight (P2F) conversions. Aircraft for conversion will be drawn from the customer's existing fleet of E-Jets, with delivery beginning in 2024.

This is the second agreement for this type of operation and the first solid contract for Embraer's P2F. Embraer and Nordic Aviation Capital (NAC) announced a deal in principle in May to accept up to ten E190F/E195F conversion slots.

Embraer's P2F conversions for E-Jets provide segment-leading performance and cost. The E-Jets Freighters will have more than half the volume capacity of narrow bodies, three times the range of big cargo turboprops, and up to 30% cheaper operating costs.

With over 1,600 E-Jets supplied internationally by Embraer, P2F clients benefit from a well-established, mature global services network, as well as a complete product selection ready to support their operations from day one.

The freighter conversion will take place at Embraer's Brazilian facilities and will include the following features: main deck front cargo door; cargo handling system; floor reinforcement; Rigid Cargo Barrier (RCB) - 9G Barrier with access door; cargo smoke detection system (class E main deck cargo compartment), Air Management System changes (cooling, pressurisation, etc.); interior removal; and provisions for hazardous material transportation.

The maximum gross structural payload for the E190F and E195F when combining under-floor bulk cargo and main deck is 13,150kg for the E190F and 14,300kg for the E195F. The net weights and volumes are particularly noteworthy when compared to average e-commerce cargo density: the E190F can handle a payload of 23,600lb (10,700kg), while the E195F can manage a payload of 27,100 lb (12,300 kg).
