Changi Airport posts strong air cargo growth in 2025
Airfreight volumes rose year-on-year, supported by exports, imports and expanding freighter services across key markets.

Singapore Changi Airport recorded a strong cargo performance in 2025, handling 2.08 million tonnes of airfreight, according to figures released by Changi Airport. The cargo throughput was 4.5% higher than the previous year, marking one of the best cargo performances in the airport’s history.
Cargo growth during the year was seen across exports, imports and transhipments. The increase was supported by front-loaded shipping activity in the first three quarters of 2025, as well as continued demand from global supply chains.
China emerged as Changi Airport’s largest air cargo market in 2025, followed by the United States of America, Australia, Hong Kong and India. China, the United States of America and Taiwan were the top growth markets for air cargo during the year.
Changi Airport also expanded its freighter network in 2025 with the launch and reinstatement of several cargo services. JD Airlines began thrice-weekly Shenzhen–Singapore freighter operations, while Turkish Cargo resumed its freighter service with a weekly Istanbul–Ho Chi Minh City–Singapore rotation.
In addition, FedEx Express expanded its cargo network at Changi Airport by launching non-stop freighter services to Anchorage, strengthening dedicated cargo capacity on the Singapore–United States of America route.
The airport said the cargo performance reflected sustained demand in key global markets and continued efforts to strengthen Singapore’s role as a regional and international air cargo hub.
