BermudAir to become world’s second E190F operator
BermudAir will become the first Embraer E-freighter operator in the Americas and the second worldwide, expanding into express cargo operations with a converted Embraer freighter leased from Regional One.
BermudAir is set to become the second airline worldwide to operate the Embraer E190F freighter, following an agreement with Regional One to lease one converted E190F aircraft.
The deployment will make BermudAir the first E-Freighter operator in the Americas, expanding the airline’s cargo capabilities alongside its existing passenger operations.
Embraer and Regional One said the aircraft is part of Regional One’s five firm orders for the E190F since the launch of the E-Freighter programme. Two converted aircraft have already been delivered and entered service.
BermudAir currently operates a fleet of two E175s and two E190s, serving 10 destinations across the Caribbean, the United States and Canada. The addition of the E190F will expand its operational capabilities while highlighting the flexibility of Embraer’s E-Jets platform for both passenger and cargo operations.

George Mamangakis, Chief Investment Officer of Regional One, said that BermudAir’s addition as the second global operator of the Embraer E190F and the first in the Americas marks an important milestone for the programme. The company highlighted BermudAir’s rapid growth and innovative approach, noting that the partnership will demonstrate the versatility and value of the E-Freighter platform. He added that the development will support the continued expansion of the E190 passenger-to-freighter (P2F) programme and its global operator base.
Based on Embraer’s established E-Jets platform, the E-Freighter is designed to address the evolving requirements of the express air freight market, including faster deliveries and decentralised operations serving high-yield destinations. The E190F provides more than 100 cubic metres of cargo volume and a payload capacity of up to 13.5 tonnes, supporting cost-efficient express cargo operations across its lower and upper decks.
The E-Freighter family is positioned between turboprops and larger narrowbody freighters, offering an alternative to older and less efficient aircraft. Embraer says the E190F can deliver up to 30% lower operating costs than classic narrowbody freighters while providing comparable cargo volume and range. It also offers 35% more volume capacity and more than three times the range of large cargo turboprops. The aircraft is designed to combine operational efficiency, flexibility, and lower environmental impact for the air cargo sector.
