Amazon and Azul Linhas Aéreas Brasileiras signed an agreement to increase package delivery capacity in Brazil's north. Amazon customers in local metropolises such as Manaus and Belém will begin to receive orders transported on Azul planes within two days, and in Macapá, within up to three days, thanks to this project with the largest company in terms of commercial flights and cities served in the national territory.

According to a survey conducted by the real estate consulting firm Cushman & Wakefield, one of the trends for the Brazilian logistics sector in the next months is a focus on delivery in the shortest time and at the lowest cost feasible. This requires a strategic redesign of companies' operations, which includes investments not only in warehouses but also in the whole logistics network.

Keeping in mind the goal of providing the finest shopping experience to its consumers while ensuring the safety and health of its workers, Amazon's operations in Brazil are innovative. Through a network of people, facilities, trucks, logistical partners, air transport, vans, motorbikes, and other connections, the firm extends its network across the country, allowing for rapid and effective deliveries to its customers.

"At Amazon, we seek to provide the best experience to customers from the North to the South of the country, preserving the safety and well-being of all people involved in the operation and delivery of packages. These are also important values for Azul, and we understand that having the services of the company with the largest number of flights in Brazil is another important step in our business strategy. We want to guarantee deliveries with the best possible performance and schedule," explained Alex Cristiano de Paula, Head of Air Transport in Brazil, Amazon.

Amazon, via its operations and third-party partners, serves 100% of the municipal districts in Brazil. In addition to the 1,400 corporate staff, there are thousands of associates in 12 Fulfillment Centers and 12 Delivery Stations around the country. Airlines from the Azul Cargo initiative will deliver items from the Amazon Fulfillment Center in Cajamar (SP) to destinations in the North area.

"Azul is the most punctual airline in the world, and we will work with the same efficiency to deliver Amazon packages in the northern region of the country, with agility, quality and low cost", highlighted Izabel Reis, Director, Azul Cargo.

The services offered by Azul Cargo, the biggest cargo company in Brazil, cover 300 routes to more than 150 Brazilian destinations from a fleet of around 160 aircrafts. Amazon now takes advantage of this breadth and connectivity of air networks to further optimize its deliveries in the country. In addition, Azul Cargo's seven own aircrafts cover national routes with higher demand and all the safety and speed that the market demands.
