Ajay Barolia and Peter Weir to lead Swissport North America
Barolia, with 9+ years at Qatar Airways, and Weir, with 20+ years at Menzies, bring vast experience to Swissport.
Swissport International has announced the appointment of Ajay Barolia as the new Senior Vice President for Cargo in North America, starting on July 15, 2024. Barolia brings over nine years of experience from Qatar Airways, where he most recently served as Vice President of Global Cargo Operations. Simultaneously, Peter Weir will be joining Swissport as the Senior Vice President of Cargo Commercial for North America. Weir, with over two decades of experience, comes from Menzies Aviation, where he held leadership roles in cargo operations, ground handling, sales, and business development, according to an official release by Swissport.

In the United States and Canada, Swissport serves over 150 airline customers and freight forwarders, providing access to new markets and trade lanes from its 19 air cargo centres. Many of these centres are equipped with temperature-controlled areas designed to handle perishables and sensitive cargo, including pharmaceuticals, the release mentions.
