Dec 26, 2016: Wilken Bormann will take over as chief executive officer of Lufthansa Hub München in the first quarter of 2017.


In this role, Bormann will be responsible for the commercial management and ongoing development of the second-largest hub of the Lufthansa Group, as well as for operations.

Bormann studied economics at Bremen University. Bormann has worked at the Lufthansa Group since 1998 and has held various management positions in the area of finance and controlling, first at Lufthansa Technik in Hamburg, and later at Lufthansa in Frankfurt.


In his current position of vice president and CFO of the Lufthansa airline, he is responsible for the airline's finances, controlling and purchasing.


He succeeds Thomas Winkelmann, who will be joining Air Berlin on February 1, 2017 as CEO and chairman of the Executive Board.
