Oct 17, 2018: All cargo airline Volga-Dnepr Airlines has organised the delivery of crankshaft – a 38-tonne shipment, from Mexico to India.
The flight from Apodaca to Indian city of Mumbai was chartered by DHL Global Forwarding.
The shipment had been packaged in a 7-meter long box alongside some support equipment required for loading.
Within 12 hours of receiving the request, Volga-Dnepr’s experienced logistics specialists developed several loading and packaging options for the customer. This promptness, and Volga Dnepr’s ability to provide a bespoke cargo platform for the required weight distribution reduced the lead-time for the uplift accordingly.
“Our unique ramp-loading IL-76TD-90VD freighter is equipped with onboard cranes and winches which facilitate optimised loading. Our aircraft, equipped with modern engines and unrestricted for global operations, secure extended opportunities for us to satisfy the market demands of the energy sector,” stated Ekaterina Andreeva, deputy commercial director, Volga-Dnepr Charter Cargo Operations.
