Jan 25, 2019: Vienna Airport saw positive growth in its cargo business in 2018, according to the figures released by Flughafen Wien AG, operator of Vienna Airport.

The total volume of cargo handled (incl. trucking) was 295,427 tonnes, an increase of 2.6 percent compared to last year. Air cargo alone rose substantially by 4.4 percent to 215,921 tonnes, whereas trucking declined by 1.9 percent to 79,506 tonnes.

Long-haul routes helped the airport record good performance when it comes to passenger numbers. For the first time in its history, the airport surpassed the threshold of 27 million passengers, recording a total of 27,037,292 passengers in 2018, or a year-on-year increase of 10.8 percent.
