SEP 15, 2015: TNT is strengthening its international express delivery services to the Nordics with improved air connections to Sweden and Finland and additional last-mile delivery capacity in large business centres.

With these improvements, which went into effect in August and early September, TNT is expanding the coverage of its international, morning delivery services in Sweden, Denmark, Norway and Finland. TNT can now serve 15 percent more post codes and 34 percent more businesses in the region by noon the next business day. Companies shipping to or from the Nordics will benefit from more delivery options for their urgent parcels and freight.

More specifically, TNT has added or improved pre-12 coverage in cities such as Stockholm, Göteborg and Malmö in Sweden, Denmark’s Aarhus and Aalborg, Norway’s Oslo and Stavanger, as well as Helsinki in Finland.

“We have expanded the number of locations for our international, next-day morning deliveries in the Nordics to help our customers who need speed and certainty. These latest improvements are part of TNT’s Outlook strategy to strengthen our position in Europe,” says Ian Clough, managing director, TNT, International Europe.

The expansion is made possible by recent operational improvements to TNT’s road and air networks. Since 7 September, TNT has reintroduced flights from Liege to Stockholm Arlanda (ARN) and Örebro (ORB) airports. The route is operated five times weekly with a B737 and allows earlier arrival times for imports and later departures for exports, compared with TNT’s previous flight to Västerås Airport. Also in Sweden, TNT selected new distribution partners earlier this year to speed up deliveries in and around Stockholm, Malmö and Örebro.

In Finland, TNT’s daily B737 freighter service from Liege to Turku will now make one stop in Helsinki. This will allow TNT to reach the capital city three hours earlier than before and to offer more morning delivery options in the area. The flight continues on to Turku in the morning and returns to Liege in the nighttime. TNT has strengthened its pick-up and delivery capabilities (PUD) capabilities in Helsinki to accompany the change.
