September 18, 2017: Temperature-controlled logistics company Thermotraffic has significantly expanded its quality management once again and has had its UK site in Rainham certified for the first time.

Following an in-depth audit, the certification company Kiwa Nederland BV concluded that Thermotraffic meets the requirements of the standard being tested for. The company is therefore being awarded ISO 22000:2005 certification in the UK.

The ISO guarantees transparency all along the supply chain on the basis of a globally standardized evaluation system. Thermotraffic meets the requirements for the national and international temperature-controlled transportation of foodstuffs and for quality management.

Certification in accordance with ISO 22000 involves strict specifications, with the focus on the appropriate handling of temperature-controlled goods. Among other things, the audit involves checks on the suitability of the operating environment, the handling of sensitive products, and food safety in accordance with the HACCP standard. The audit also makes high demands in the area of quality management. Full compliance with the standard is reviewed annually by the certification body.

“Our aim is to deliver top quality. At all times, we place the focus on the customer and on food safety. Certification from an independent body guarantees food shipping transparency all along the supply chain for our customers,” says Rob Haesakkers, managing director of Thermotraffic Holland B.V.

Certification in accordance with ISO minimizes food risks and gives the customers greater transparency, thereby resulting in greater customer confidence. It serves as evidence of food safety and product liability thanks to the efficient checking of processes.
