Marseille,October 22, 2014 (STAT):-The CMA CGM Group has acquired 7,000 last generation Reefer containers and targets one million Reefer containers transported before 2015.Reefer volumes carried by CMA CGM are increasing by 13% per year in a 6.5% growing market
Further CMA CGM is investing in vessels, materials and expertise and so products can be now transported by sea thanks to technical innovations.
“These investments strengthen CMA CGM’s leader’s position in Reefer transport which will become the most important vehicle of sensitive goods transport in the following years to come.” elucidates Alexis Michel, Senior Vice President Logistics & Reefer.
The most inventive Reefer containers reduce carbon print by 60% compare to the first generation’s Reefers and also allow a precise controlling of the cold chain. Besides it optimizes the atmosphere control, operate a phytosanitary cold treatment needed for perishable goods and lengthen significantly their shelf life.
With these containers, CMA CGM is proficient to transport fruits and vegetables, frozen food, wine, flowers and pharmaceutical products in optimum conditions.
