Taipei, December 18, 2014 (STAT):-EVA Air will initiate non-stop flights between Taipei and Houston on June 19, 2015. The airline will start the new service with three flights a week and increase frequency to four on July 1, 2015. The route will give passengers a comfortable way to fly from the Southwestern region of the US to Taipei and conveniently transfer to major destinations throughout Asia.

EVA will serve the route with its latest Boeing 777-300ER, which will be delivered in May 2015 and brightly painted nose-to-tail with Texas–sized Hello Kitty and Sanrio characters. The 333-seat aircraft will be configured with 39 seats in Royal Laurel Class business, 56 in Elite premium economy and 238 in Economy. It will be equipped with Wi-Fi, the latest inflight entertainment system and SMS roaming service that passengers can use to send and receive short messages on their own mobile phones. Flights between Taipei’s Taoyuan International and Houston’s George Bush Intercontinental Airports are scheduled.

EVA operates a comprehensive routing network in Asia, which covers more than 30 destinations in Mainland China and offers flights to Singapore, Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia, the Philippines and more. With just one easy stop in Taipei, passengers can connect onward throughout the entire region. As part of its network expansion program, the airline will further enhance the convenience of its one-stop connections by flying the new Hello Kitty Jet between Taipei and Singapore in addition to Houston.
