Welcoming the honour, Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem, Chairman of DP World, said “Mina Rashid began life as the region’s first modern container port more than 40 years ago, and its success story continues as the world’s best cruise terminal today. The opening of the Hamdan Bin Mohammed Cruise Terminal will further strengthen Dubai’s position as a global city and one of the premier international cruise hubs.
“DP World is committed to the continuous development of Mina Rashid to maintain its leading position in the future and to cater for expected demand. Dubai’s ambition is to attract 20 million tourists a year by 2020, the year in which we will host the World Expo, with the Department of Tourism & Commerce Marketing (DTCM) anticipating cruise tourist numbers reaching the one-million mark by that time.” he added
