SCAT Airlines adds first fuel-efficient Boeing 737 MAX in its fleet

March 30, 2018: Kazakhstan-based, SCAT Airlines recently received its first Boeing 737 MAX 8, which is one of the six that it had ordered in 2017. It is the first airline in Central Asia to fly the MAX.

SCAT has been operating the fuel-efficient Boeing’s Next-Gen 737, since long. With the delivery of the new 737 MAX, the airline will be able to achieve a double-digit improvement in fuel efficiency, and environmental performance.

“Last year, SCAT Airlines celebrated its 20th anniversary, and it’s quite symbolic that we are entering a year of adulthood, with a purchase of the newest aircraft models. We are confident that the acquisition of Boeing 737 MAX 8 jets will not only raise the level of customer service in our airline, but will offer a new momentum in the development of the aviation industry in Kazakhstan,” said Vladimir Denisov, president, SCAT Airlines.

During the 2017 Dubai Airshow, SCAT Airlines had placed orders for six 737 MAX 8s, worth $674 million. It included purchase rights for five additional 737 MAX 8s.

The 737 MAX family is designed to offer exceptional performance, with lower operating costs and additional range to open up new destinations in the single-aisle market. The 737 MAX has incorporated the latest CFM International LEAP-1B engines, advanced technology winglets, Boeing Sky Interior, large flight deck display, and other features to deliver the highest efficiency, reliability and passenger comfort in the single-aisle market.
