December 4, 2017: Safran China, a leading high-technology group and supplier of systems and equipment in the Chinese aerospace and defense markets has recently appointed Philippe Bardol as its new CEO.

According to reports, Bardol was named as General Delegate for China and Chief Executive Officer of Safran China. He has replaced Kenning Liu, who has retired.

Bardol holds a post-graduate degree from the Institut national des langues et civilisations orientales. In 1995, he started his career with the French Foreign Ministry. Subsequently, he moved to the Foreign Economic Relations directorate at the Ministry of Finance in 2000,

Based in Shanghai, Bardol was the first trade attaché, and then the director for China with the French agency—Agence française pour les investissements internationaux, AFII for international investments.

In 2005, he was named the trade advisor in Osaka, Japan. He then moved to Tokyo as the director of the Northeast Asia zone.

In 2012, he joined the Executive Committee of Ubifrance in Paris as the head of the international network and quality.

At the time when the Business France was created in late 2014, he was appointed as the director of the China zone, and trade advisor to the French embassy in Beijing.
