Qatar Airways Cargo wins ‘Rising  Star Carrier of the Year’ at Payload Asia awards

Doha, November 17, 2014 (STAT):-Qatar Airways Cargo has been awarded the Rising Star Carrier of the Year at the 2014 Payload Asia awards in the Industry Choice Category.

The event which was held at Marina Mandarin Hotel in Singapore honoured the very best in the industry at a spectacular gala dinner and awards ceremony.

The event was attended by more than 200 members of the air cargo fraternity with the guest of honour being the Director-General of Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS), Mr Yap Ong Heng.

The Rising Star Carrier of the Year award is an acknowledgement of Qatar Airways Cargo’s dynamic growth in recent years, and its customer service and product innovations.

Commenting on the award, Qatar Airways’ Chief Officer Cargo, Ulrich Ogiermann said: “Qatar Airways Cargo has established value-added services for its customers and has become a leader of innovation in various aspects of the air cargo industry.

“The year 2014 has been a remarkable one for Qatar Airways Cargo with the launch of QR Pharma and QR Fresh in January, the migration to the fully automated, state-of-the-art cargo facility at Hamad International Airport, and the launch of eight freighter destinations so far. Two Boeing 777 freighters joined the fleet this year and a fourth Airbus A330 freighter will also be joining the fleet this month, and all of this is reflected in the award.”
