Polar Air Cargo appoints Lars Winkelbauer as EVP and COO

May 31, 2018: Lars Winkelbauer is the new executive vice president and chief operating officer of Polar Air Cargo Worldwide, a subsidiary of Atlas Air Worldwide Holdings. He joins the new role from July 1, 2018.

Based in Purchase, New York, he will be responsible for all aspects of aviation operations, strategy and service performance in Polar’s worldwide network. He will report to Polar’s president and chief executive officer, William J Flynn.

He succeeds Robert Hyslop, who is moving from Polar to rejoin DHL Express as senior vice president Global Aviation, based in Plantation, Florida.

“Lars’ in-depth knowledge of the company, the Asia-Pacific buy generic ambien online region, and the express airfreight industry will help Polar and its sister companies – Atlas Air and Southern Air – continue to support DHL Express and to develop in the fast-growing express segment,” said Flynn.

“During his tenure, Polar has expanded its network while continuing to provide reliable and consistent service to DHL and Polar’s other customers,” Flynn added.

Winkelbauer joined DHL Asia Pacific in 2014 as its vice president, Aviation, Network Planning and Control. Prior to joining DHL, he served as Polar’s vice president for Marketing, Revenue Management and Network Planning.
