PayCargo appoints Amit Gairola as chief design officer
The appointment comes as PayCargo expands its customer base across Europe, the Middle East, India, and Asia following a surge in new users since 2020. Gairola worked previously at Amazon for ten years in a variety of General Management, Product and Commercial roles.
PayCargo has appointed Amit Gairola as Chief Design Officer, joining the executive team of the cargo payment platform.
He will be based in London from where he will lead a team focused on the product and strategy of PayCargo’s expansion in Europe, the Middle East, and Asia. He will also have global responsibility for PayCargo’s data business.
Gairola worked previously at Amazon for ten years in a variety of General Management, Product and Commercial roles, including most recently as General Manager of Amazon Freight in Europe.
He recently worked as chief executive for a new business opportunity in the sustainable fashion start-up, Pangaia. He has also previously worked in strategy consulting at the Boston Consulting Group (BCG).

In June, PayCargo announced a Series B investment of USD125 million by global venture capital and private equity firm Insight Partners, which is being used to fuel the EMEIA expansion as well as digital payment tools and services for platform users.
The Series B investment came nine months after a Series A investment for USD35 million, also by Insight Partners.
“Year over year we continue growing in users and expanding our presence internationally. PayCargo is currently on track to process more than USD10 billion of freight-related payments: a 250 percent increase from 2020,” said Eduardo Del Riego, global chief executive office, PayCargo.
