Oversized motor shipment moves to Shanghai aboard ABC Airlines
March 13, 2018: Greencarrier Freight Services appointed AirBridgeCargo Airlines (ABC) to deliver a 28-tonne ABB motor shipment from Vasteras in Sweden to Shanghai, China.
The shipment was first trucked from Vasteras to ABC's online station in Amsterdam and then delivered to its destination on one of its Boeing 747 freighters.
The Russian carrier informed: 'Specialists from the abc XL team used their expertise and knowledge to organize the unique shipment, which weighed close to the maximum payload allowed per position in the cargo hold.'
After a careful and thorough examination of all the technical details, the abc XL team suggested leaving the 28-tonne motor on its metal beams without dismantling after they planned a precise loading scheme which allowed the gross weight to be slightly lowered and leaving the shoring and motor intact. This solution produced an important time saving for the customer and facilitated a faster and more streamlined loading process.
'Our abc XL team consists of expert loadmasters, engineers, sales, and operations personnel who understands the significance of every decision they make. We are delighted to see yet another out-of-gauge shipment being delivered by air without any hurdles, despite the circumstances,' highlighted Sergey Lazarev, general director of AirBridgeCargo Airlines.
In the first two months of 2019, the company's abc XL volumes have increased nearly three-fold, with plans for the further development of dedicated abc XL hubs within the ABC network, active implementation of 3D simulation software, certification of specialists, and improvements to customers' digital experience.
