Created to enhance security and provide visibility to cargo before it%u2019s in the air, Air Cargo Advance Screening (ACAS) is a joint US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and Transportation Security Administration (TSA) program that requires data be submitted prior to loading at a foreign airport. On June 12, 2018, ACAS became mandatory for air forwarders and carriers following the conclusion of the voluntary compliance ACAS pilot program.

The Descartes ACAS solution consolidates mandatory ACAS data from multiple sources, checks that it conforms to CBP%u2019s unique ACAS message formats, and submits those documents to CBP once they have passed all validations. The solution uses the Descartes Global Logistics Network%u2122 to manage the flow of master and house bill information to file directly to CBP without manual intervention, which increases data accuracy and timeliness.

%u201CWe%u2019re pleased to help NCA comply with ACAS requirements,%u201D said Scott Sangster, VP Global Logistics Network at Descartes. %u201CAir cargo transportation is a vital part of the growing international logistics market, and Descartes%u2019 solutions help carriers, like NCA, and other stakeholders in the air cargo community accelerate the movement of freight while meeting important security initiatives worldwide.%u201D
