Munich, October 10, 2014 (STAT):-With its Q3 2014 results, the airport handled more than 30 million passengers in the first three quarters of a calendar year. A chief factor behind this result was strong passenger demand in the third quarter: the 11.4 million passengers using the airport between July and September represent an all-time high for a single quarter in Munich. September also set a new single-month traffic record, with 3.8 million passengers. And Friday, September 26 entered the record books as the busiest day in the airport’s history, with 144,954 passengers. The 285,000 take-offs and landings during the first three quarters of this year were 1.5 percent lower than the figure for the first nine months of 2013: a reflection of the fact that airlines are operating larger aircraft in Munich.
