May 15, 2015:-American Airlines has launched new direct flights with Boeing 767-300 from Miami International Airport to Frankfurt. American Airlines is the hub carrier for Miami International Airport. Frankfurt’s importance as a financial hub of Europe and its advantageous geographical position in the heart of the European Union was the reason for launching this service.

“American Airlines continues to be a tremendous partner for MIA and our community, and I congratulate them on their new Miami-Frankfurt service,” said Miami-Dade County Mayor Carlos A. Gimenez.

“Miami International Airport is our community’s top economic engine, and American Airlines’ daily flights to Frankfurt will help to further propel our local economy forward,” said Miami-Dade County Commissioner Jose “Pepe” Diaz, Chairman of the County’s Trade and Tourism Committee.

“Along with supporting tourism, American’s new Miami-Frankfurt service will strengthen business ties between Europe’s financial heart and Miami’s international banking and finance sector,” added Miami-Dade Aviation Director Emilio T. González. “We appreciate American Airlines’ continued commitment to the growing Miami market.”

American Airlines will launch service from Miami to Monterrey, Mexico and Barranquilla, Colombia in June and in July, Aruba Airlines begins service from Miami to Aruba, while Aerolíneas Argentinas begins Miami-Córdoba service. This fall, Four-Star carriers Austrian Airlines and Turkish Airlines will begin scheduled service from Miami to Vienna and Istanbul, respectively.
