Chennai, October 13, 2014 (STAT):- ‘m.v. Holsatia’ operated by Simatech Shipping on her maiden visit to Chennai as a part of its weekly services.

The weekly service is scheduled to call at Chennai every Thursday and sail out on Saturday. IFX service will deploy 3 x 3600 TEU & 2 x 4500 TEU capacity vessels and operate with the following port rotation:

This service also offers a reliable & efficient link to other destinations in China via the direct ports of call North China – Xingang, Qingdao, Dalian, Zhanjiagang, Chongquing, Wuhan, Lianyungang, etc. South China – Hongkong, Huangpu, Xiamen, etc.

‘Holsatia’ on her maiden visit carried imports of 2200 TEUs for discharge comprising major import commodities like electronic goods, furniture, etc. The export volume summed up to 1800 TEUs and comprised of commodities being mainly Granites, Agro products & Minerals.

Jeyakumar, Deputy Chairman, Chennai Port Trust in his address commented “This event marks the crossing of another milestone in Chennai Port’s path to becoming a global hub and caters to the aspirations of the Exim Trade of the region.”

Customer confidence reposed in the IFX service is upward bound since induction and reflects in the support received.”

Mr. Ennarasu Karunesan, CEO & Director, DP World Chennai welcomed Simatech Shipping and their agent Greenways Shipping & expressed delight at the average increase of vessel capacity & relevant parcel sizes being handled by CCTL due to the induction of various direct services. Concluding on an appreciative note of the contemporary awareness of Exim trade stakeholders in the region he thanked them for the resultant support extended to CCTL.
