May 07, 2018: UPS has named Lou Rivieccio as president of UPS Europe.

Rivieccio, a 34 year UPS veteran, will now be responsible for all UPS operations in 56 countries and territories and more than 49,000 employees.

He joins this new role at critical time of growth for the logistics provider’s largest region outside the US.

“Lou comes to Europe at a time when we are investing in our network to improve speed, add capacity and service the demand we’re seeing driven by e-commerce and cross-border trade,” said Jim Barber, chief operating officer, UPS.

He started his career with UPS as a part-time package handler in Spring Valley, New York.

While working with the company for several years, he has held several key management positions throughout North America, including vice president of operations for UPS Canada, president of the Northern Plains District, and president of the Ohio Valley District in the US.

In his most recent role as president of the UPS East Region in the US, he provided strategic direction for approximately 175,000 employees in 26 states.

He succeeds Nando Cesarone, who has been appointed president of UPS International and a member of UPS’s Management Committee, the company’s senior leadership group. In this role, he is responsible for all of UPS’s activities outside of the US.
